The Short Story: It all came down to the fourth quarter Saturday afternoon for the Gannon men's water polo team as they tied the game 12-12 in the final minute of the third, but Johns Hopkins held the Knights to just one goal in the final eight minutes to pull away with a four point win.
Drago Marjanovic (Belgrade, Serbia/North Allegheny (Pa.)) and
Tim Baer (San Diego, Calif./Classical Academy) each scored three goals for Gannon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gannon poured in six goals in the first quarter jumping out to a 6-4 lead over JHU. Thomas Squeglia (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) and Jack Donnelly (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral) scored first to give the Knights a 2-0 edge. The Blue Jays scored the next three goals, but Anthony Squeglia (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep), Riley Hinkley (Meshoppen, Pa./Princeton), and Tim Baer (San Diego, Calif./Classical Academy) each added a goal before time expired.
- Gannon outscored Johns Hopkins again in the second quarter to take a three-point lead at the half. Baer opened the second quarter with his second straight goal and would add his final goal with one second left in the half.
- The Blue Jays took a one goal lead with 2:23 left in the third quarter. Marjanovic scored with 56 seconds left on the clock to knot it up 12-12 heading into the final quarter.
- Johns Hopkins came alive in the final eight minutes outscoring Gannon 5-1 leading to a four point win. Marjanovic scored Gannon's only goal.

GAME NOTES
- Marjanovic and Baer each scored three goals for Gannon to lead the team. This is Marjanovic's third straight game with at least three goals.
- David Gallion (Arlington, Va./Homeschool) and Hinkley also added two goals for the Knights.
- Donnelly and both Squeglias each scored one goal.
- Jacob Hollo (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) made a whopping six saves in just the first quarter of today's action. He finished the game with 10 total stops in goal.

- Gannon will play the No. 8 La Salle at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning for their final game of the 2019 season and at the MAWPC Championships.
