AROUND THE LEAGUE
SERIES HISTORY

  • First Meeting: Oct. 25, 2008: Gannon 26, Lock Haven 0

  • How It Happened: Marcus Jones (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) capped his Gannon career with one of the best single-game efforts in Division II history, rushing for 407 yards and seven touchdowns as the Golden Knights were clipped by Lock Haven at a snow-covered McConnell Family Stadium to close the 2018 season.

SCOUTING GANNON
  • Gannon forced a fumble and went right down the field to take a 7-0 lead early last week against No. 9 Slippery Rock. The Golden Knights were down just one score midway through the second quarter, but the Rock pulled away for a 56-7 win.
  • Zevin Holley (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) took advantage of a bulk of the carries on Senior Day, logging 147 yards and a touchdown on 27 totes to set a career high and the best rushing effort this season for Gannon.
  • The first-quarter forced fumble extended the Knights' streak to 11 consecutive games forcing a turnover out of their opponents for the Gannon defense.
  • The Knights continue to excel at stopping opponents in the red zone, sitting at 60th in the country and sixth in the PSAC at 75.5 percent.

SCOUTING LOCK HAVEN
  • The Bald Eagles were able rack up yards against a stingy West Chester defense last week, but three first-half drives ended in turnovers as the Golden Rams scored on each of their first five drives. WCU put up 517 yards of offense and punted just once on its way to a 56-14 win.
  • Running back Chantz Swartz was averaging 100 yards per game, but hasn't played in the last two games. That hasn't slowed down the PSAC's leading rushing attack, which still put up at least 250 yards in each of the last two games.
  • The LHU defense has struggled through much of the season, allowing at least 35 points each of the last nine games, and at least 48 in eight of those. The Bald Eagles allow a league-worst 495.8 yards and 52.1 points per game..

UP NEXT
  • The Golden Knights will be back in action for the 2020 season beginning in September.
