HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lewis put Gannon on the scoreboard first in the 10th minute with a header off Maddie North's (Leysdown-on-Sea, England/The Westlands School) corner kick.
  • Following a 30-minute lightning delay, Kayla Bevacqua (Welland, Ontario/Notre Dame) recorded her first goal of the season in 50th minute to give Gannon a 2-0 lead. Lewis provided the assist.
  • Lewis put things out of reach for the Falcons in the 71st minute with her second goal of the contest on a header played into the box by North.

GAME NOTES
  • Lewis finished the game with two goals and one assist.
  • Bevacqua had one goal, while North registered two assists.
  • Gannon narrowly out-shot Notre Dame, 9-8.
  • Both teams had three corner kicks apiece.
  • Hannah Pufpaff (Buffalo, N.Y./Saint Mary's) recorded her first complete-game shutout of the season. She made three saves.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
  • Saturday is Gannon's second straight shutout win. The Lady Knights blanked Clarion last Thursday, 3-0.
  • Saturday was Gannon's only nonconference match of the season.
  • Lewis recorded the second five-point game of her career. She also tallied two goals and one assist in a 3-1 win over Mercyhurst on Oct. 15, 2017.
  • Lewis is now fourth all-time at Gannon in career scoring with 67 points. Mani Brueckner (Valencia, Pa./Mars Area) (2012-15, 137), Amanda Sharbaugh (2008-11, 124) and Erin Cray (1997-00, 90) hold down the top-3 spots. Lewis needs 23 points to move into a tie with Cray.
  • Lewis' 28 career goals is also the fourth-most in program history.
  • Putpaff's three saves is a career best.
  • 19 Lady Knights saw action in the win Saturday night.
