  • The Short Story: The Gannon women's soccer season started the season 3-0 on Wednesday night for the first time since 2015 with a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Edinboro.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Edinboro took a 1-0 lead 22:24 into the game when Danielle Chatten scored her second goal of the season on a pass from Cameron Bujnoski.
  • Just 18 seconds later, Taylor Lewis (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) tied it up with her fourth goal of the year on a breakaway from 15-yards out.
  • Gannon went on to out-shoot Edinboro 9-3 until Hannah Hays (Butler, Pa./Butler) scored the game-winner in the 75th minute on a crossing pass from Vanessa Coccurello (Hamilton, Ontario/St. Jean de Brebeuf).
  • Both teams exchanged shots on goal in the final 15 minutes, but Gannon held on for its second Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory of the season.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Lewis scored her fourth goal of the season, while Hays recorded her first.
  • Gannon out-shot Edinboro 12-6.
  • Edinboro held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
  • Hannah Pufpaff (Buffalo, N.Y./Saint Mary's) made four saves in her third win of the season.
