The Gannon women's volleyball team (16-1, 5-1 PSAC) returns home to the Hammermill Center for a conference matchup with California (Pa.) on Friday, October 5 at 7:00 p.m. The Lady Knights picked up road wins against Clarion (9/28/18) and Indiana (Pa.) (9/29/18) this past weekend to extend their winning streak to five games. Gannon has won 12 of its 16 matches by sweep this season and also played its first five-set match of the year against Clarion. Freshman
Lauren Sampson (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson), who leads the team in kills, has recorded double-digit kills in each of the Lady Knights' past three matches, which included a .320 hitting percentage last Saturday against IUP. The Vulcans (12-6, 5-1) have won a pair of conference matches in a row and are slated to begin a five-match road swing on Tuesday against Seton Hill. Rachel Priore paces California in kills (203) and kills/set (3.12).
Gannon Cross Country Teams Host Gannon/Mercyhurst Invite Saturday

Hitting the second half of their schedule, the Gannon men's and women's cross country teams host their lone home race of the season Saturday morning at Pleasant Ridge Park in Fairview, Pennsylvania. The Knights have had a solid start to the 2018 season, as both squads have finished in the top six in the team standings at every competition thus far. They competed in their largest race of the season on Saturday, putting in a good showing at Lehigh's Paul Short Run, as the men finished sixth out of 36 teams and the women fifth out of 46.
Joseph Westrick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) continued his torrid start by finishing second overall in the men's race, and
Grace McGrath (Pawling, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) led the Lady Knights once again with a ninth-place finish.
GU Football Looks to Snap Losing Streak Against Seton Hill in Homecoming Game

The Gannon football team returns home to McConnell Family Stadium after back-to-back games on the road to begin PSAC West play. The Golden Knights nearly handed Edinboro its second loss of the season last week, taking an early 14-0 lead and holding off the Fighting Scots until a touchdown with less than two minutes to go in the game proved the difference in a 31-24 Edinboro win. Saturday's noon kickoff will coincide with homecoming festivities all weekend, and Gannon will look to remain unbeaten against Seton Hill, as the Knights hold a 5-0 advantage in the all-time series.

The Lady Knights continue its six-match homestand on Saturday, October 6 against Seton Hill at 2:00 p.m. Gannon boasts a 14-4 all-time record against the Griffins and sit atop the PSAC Northwest division. The Lady Knights lead the conference in hitting percentage (.258) and opponent hitting percentage (.086). Junior
Ally Smith (Penfield, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) paces the Lady Knights with 3.15 kills/set and ranks second on the team with 129 kills. Seton Hill is led by Viktoria Farian, who leads the team in kills (185) and kills/set (3.36).
Gannon Men's Golf Returns to Action at Bud Elwell Invite

The Gannon men's golf team hosts the Howard "Bud" Elwell Invitational Sunday-Monday in the lone home event of the fall season. Indiana (Pa.), Mercyhurst, Pitt-Johnstown, West Chester, Humber, Daemen, Allegheny and Gannon are expected to compete. Last season, the Golden Knights captured the eight-team field behind
Ethan Bennett's (Stoney Creek, Ontario/Cardinal Newman Catholic) individual title. Following the Bud Elwell Invite, Gannon will head to the PSAC Championships at the Hershey Country Club.
