The Short Story: The Gannon women's swimming team captured the 400-yard medley relay, 200-yard freestyle relay and senior Meghan Terwilliger (Grove City, Pa./Grove City Area) clocked a time of 2:13.06 to win the 200-yard butterfly on her Senior Night, but the Lady Knights came up short to NCAA Division I Canisius College, 136-78, Friday evening at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion pool.

Prior to the start of the meet, Gannon honored its senior class of Mckenna Haskins (Union City, Pa./Union City), Jessica Ott (Mars, Pa./Mars Area), Meghan Terwilliger (Grove City, Pa./Grove City Area) and Makayla Williams (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville).
The Lady Knights clocked eight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-qualifying times. Friday's meet served as a final tune-up before the PSAC Championships next month.
Gannon swept both relays Friday evening. The 400-yard medley relay (4:06.02) edged the Griffs' A team by 0.6 seconds. Gannon's winning 200-yard freestyle team (1:41.40) also narrowly nipped Canisus' A team (1:41.50).
Rory Lingg (Murrysville, Pa./Homeschool) reached the PSAC-qualifying time in the 50-yard freestyle with her career-best time of 25.39.
Terwilliger won the 200-yard butterfly for the sixth time this season.

The Lady Knights will take the next month to prepare for the PSAC Championships Feb. 21-24 in York, Pa.
