OTHER LINKS
LAST TIME OUT
  • Gannon was unable to hold onto a 17-point halftime lead as Seton Hill produced a 52-29 second-half scoring edge last Saturday en route to a 71-65 victory against the Golden Knights at the McKenna Center. Gannon held a 36-19 advantage after the first 20 minutes, before Seton Hill shot 61 percent in the second half.

GANNON (14-7, 12-5 PSAC) STORYLINES
  • Gannon has dropped two of its last three games after winning a season-high eight consecutive contests from January 3-25.
  • The Golden Knights are coming off a 71-65 loss at Seton Hill last Saturday in which they held a 36-19 lead at halftime.
  • Junior Damon Miraud (Elizabeth, N.J./Elizabeth) recorded his second consecutive double-double and fourth of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
  • Gannon's lead over third-place Pitt-Johnstown in the PSAC Western Division shrunk to three games with five regular-season contests remaining. The second-place position is important as a first-round bye and PSAC quarterfinal home game come with it.
  • Junior Zay Jackson (Queens, N.Y./Westside) has reached double digits in scoring during 20 straight games while senior Matthew Dogan (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) has done so in 18 consecutive contests.
  • In contrast to its five victories when trailing at halftime this season, Gannon has lost three contests when leading at halftime.
  • The Golden Knights are 1-6 when failing to score at least 70 points while holding a 13-1 mark when reaching the 70-point plateau.
  • Freshman Jimmy Berger (Medina, Ohio/Saint Ignatius) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.
  • Gannon has a new look on the floor after replacing its top five scorers from a year ago. However, the Golden Knights returned their next five top scorers from last year's squad.
  • Head coach John T. Reilly's club returned only 28 percent (454-1,632) of its total scoring from a year ago.
  • Gannon leads the PSAC in offensive rebounds per game (14.6). It ranks second in rebounding margin (7.6), third in rebounding offense (39.6) and third in rebounding defense (32.0).
  • Miraud ranks second among PSAC players in offensive rebounds per game (3.5), third in rebounds per game (9.5) and third in defensive rebounds per game (6.0).
  • Berger sits second among conference players in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.7) and assists per game (6.6). He is eighth among all NCAA Division II players in assists per game.
  • The Golden Knights were predicted to finish fourth in the PSAC Western Division according to the league's preseason coaches poll. The program won back-to-back PSAC Western Division regular-season championships in 2013-14 and 2014-15 while winning its second PSAC Tournament title since joining the league in 2008-09 two years ago.
  • Gannon entered the 2016-17 season 10th among all NCAA Division II programs in all-time winning percentage, beginning the season with a 1,214-689 (63.8 percent) record in 72 seasons. More recently, the Golden Knights were 27th among Division II programs with a .693 winning percentage (203-90) during the 2000s.
  • Reilly entered the 2016-17 season 26th among active NCAA Division II coaches in career victories (423) and 61st in career winning percentage (.611). He became the 30th active NCAA Division II coach to record 400 career wins December 17, 2014 against West Chester. Reilly recorded his 180th victory at Gannon February 21 at California (Pa.), becoming the program's all-time winningest coach. He became one of only two basketball coaches in school history - men or women - to record 200 victories on the Gannon sideline with an 80-69 win at Edinboro on January 11.
