  • The Short Story: The Gannon Men's Water Polo fell to Johns Hopkins on Saturday, 12-11, at the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Championships (MAWPC). Gilberto Millan (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico/Colegio San Jose) led Gannon with four goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Johns Hopkins scored the first goal before Gilberto Millan (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico/Colegio San Jose) tied it up with a liner at the 4:40 mark.
  • Gannon and Johns Hopkins were tied at three after the first intermission.
  • Nick Williams (Bainbridge Island, Wash./Bainbridge Island) gave the Golden Knights a 4-3 lead midway through the second period.
  • JHU tallied the final two goals of the half and took a 5-4 lead to the break.
  • Johns Hopkins outscored Gannon, 5-2, in the third period. The Golden Knights' goals came from Jake Rehrer (Chino Hills, Calif./Chino Hills) and Zarko Sadikovic (Nis, Serbia/GTS Neimar).
  • Down 10-6, Gannon made its run in the fourth quarter. Goals from Jack Donnelly (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral), Sadikovic and Millan closed the gap to 12-9 with 2:24 remaining.
  • Back-to-back Millan goals at the 1:52 and 1:26 marks had the Golden Knights knocking at the door, down 12-11.
  • Gannon couldn't find the tying goal, however, falling by the single goal.

  • Gannon connected on 11-of-34 shots from the field and was 2-of-7 on powerplays.
  • Johns Hopkins shot 12-of-34 overall and was 4-of-7 on powerplays.
  • Millan led the Golden Knights with four goals.
