The Short Story:Â The Gannon women's basketball team continued their winning streak, as they defeated Mansfield, 63-41, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover matchup Wednesday evening at the Hammermill Center.

- Mansfield tied the game,2-2, 28 seconds later, as Katie Fitzpatrick sank two free throws.
- The Lady Knights went on an 8-0, to take a 10-2 lead with 5:13, which included buckets from Thies, Elissa Ellerbrock and Morgan Neighbors.
- The Mountaineers responded recording five consecutive points of their own to only trail 10-7, with 3:07 left in the first quarter.
- Gannon continued to build upon their lead closing out the quarter going on a 6-2 run, 16-9.
- The Lady Knights remained in control, as McKenna Shives sank a three-pointer nine seconds into the second quarter.
- Melanie Taylor responded hitting a three-pointer, to trail 21-12 with nine minutes left on the clock.
- Gannon took a 13 point lead, 27-14, with 5:26 left in the quarter, which included jumpers from Neighbors, Thies and Amanda Berchtold.
- The two teams exchanged back-to-back three-pointers, as the Lady Knights went into the locker room leading 35-22.
- Shives added another three-pointer to her column, sinking one 31 seconds into the third quarter.
- It wasn't until the 5:45 mark that the Mountaineers, Tianna Jackson hit a lay-up to trail 40-24.
- Shives sank back-to-back three-pointers as the Lady Knights took a 46-25 lead with 4:10 left in the third quarter.
- Mansfield closed the quarter going on a 8-2 run to cut Gannon's lead down to 15, 48-33.
- The Lady Knights tallied five consecutive points, including a three from Neighbors and a lay-up plus a free throw from Thies, to lead 54-35 with 8:03 left in the game.
- Kelsey Herbert tallied seven points in the span of two minutes, as the Lady Knights led, 61-41 with 3:21 left in the game.
- Lanise Saunders hit the final bucket of the game, as the Lady Knights went on for the 63-41 victory.
GAME NOTES:- Senior Jennie Thies recorded her seventh double-double of the season with a game-high 16 points and 15 rebounds.
- Two other Lady Knights also recorded double-digit figures, McKenna Shives chipped in with 15 points and Morgan Neighbors added 10 points.
- Freshman Kelsey Herbert recorded a season and career-high nine points
- Gannon shot 37.7 percent (23-61) from the field, 35.0 percent (7-20) from behind the arc, and were 76.9 percent (10-13) from the free throw line.
- The Lady Knights outrebound Mansfield 50-35, including 34 defensive rebounds.
- This is the first game since the Millersville game (Nov. 21, 2015) that the Lady Knights have scored under 70 points.
- Mansfield was led by Princella McCullough with a team-high 10 points and eight rebounds.
- The Mountaineers shot 25.4 percent (15-59) from the field, 33.3 percent (5-15) from beyond the arc, and 66.6 percent (6-9) from the free throw line.Â
UP NEXT:- The Lady Knights return to action on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 when they travel to PSAC and NCAA Division II National Champion California (Pa.).
