HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon struck first when freshman Ileyana Little (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) scored off an assist from freshman Kaitie Babiarz (Alpharetta, Ga./Johns Creek) eight minutes and 30 seconds into the contest.
  • Bloomsburg went scoreless for the first 11 minutes and 10 seconds until exploding for five consecutive goals. Taylor Turner accounted for three of those scores. Her last gave the Huskies a 5-1 lead with 11:30 left in the first half.
  • Gannon battled back with unassisted goals from Babiarz and freshman Kierstyn Haight (Oshawa, Ontario/Maxwell Heights) to cut the deficit to 5-3 at the 7:31 mark.
  • Julie Falk's free-position goal with 3:31 remaining capped the first-half scoring and sent Bloomsburg to the break with a 6-3 lead.
  • After the visitors opened the second half with a goal, Gannon drew within 7-6 following a three-goal outburst.
  • Three different Lady Knights scored during the run. Little's second goal of the afternoon with 25:48 showing on the clock cut the difference to 7-6.
  • As it did all afternoon, Bloomsburg responded when Gannon got close. The Huskies held the Lady Knights without a score for 20 minutes and 50 seconds after their sixth goal. In the process, Bloomsburg scored three times to regain control at 10-6.
  • Gannon rallied one last time, cutting the deficit to 10-8 with consecutive goals from Haight in the span of 32 seconds. The second came with 4:26 remaining, but the Lady Knights were unable to get another score. The squad did manage two shots during the final 13 seconds, but Bloomsburg goalkeeper Brittney Hegarty was up to the task both times.
