GAMEDAY MEDIA CENTER
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • For the second consecutive day, Gannon struck first when freshman Ileyana Little (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) scored three minutes and 43 seconds into the contest.
  • East Stroudsburg responded by controlling the next four minutes and grabbed a 2-1 lead after consecutive goals by Chessie Rahmer and Samantha Weinert.
  • Gannon head coach Lindsey Lowman called timeout after the Warriors' second goal and it was all Lady Knights the rest of the half.
  • Senior Kelley Sundberg's (Mansfield, Conn./E.O. Smith) unassisted goal at the 21:14 mark tied the contest at two and ignited a 12-0 run.
  • Little and Sundberg both recorded hat tricks during that run alone. In all, six different Lady Knights scored during the 12-0 blitz. Little's unassisted tally with 56 seconds left in the first half capped the run and sent Gannon into the break with a commanding 13-2 lead.
  • East Stroudsburg was able to turn the tide during the second half. The Warriors held the Lady Knights without a goal for the first 27 minutes and 16 seconds. However, ESU was only able to muster four goals of its own during that time span.
  • Annastasia Porpora's score with 9:40 remaining cut the deficit to 13-6.
  • Neither team was able to dent the scoreboard after that until junior Becky Hilker's (Bowmanville, Ontario/Clarington Central SS) goal with 2:44 to play completed the scoring.
