The Short Story: Charleston scored three goals during both halves and cruised to a 6-0 victory Thursday night in the season opener for both programs. The Golden Eagles scored first in the 13th minute, before opening a 3-0 lead after 29 minutes of action.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Charleston went on the attack early, taking the first five shots of the match. The Golden Eagles scored off two of those attempts.
- Three different Charleston players scored during the opening 29 minutes. Will Roberts tallied the first goal off an assist from Augusto Maciel in the 13th minute.
- Kevin Feucht and Renan Ramos added goals during the 17th and 29th minutes to give Charleston a 3-0 halftime advantage.
- Ramos and Roberts recorded their second goals of the match during the second half, bumping the difference to 5-0.
- Felipe Antonio's score with 3:21 remaining accounted for the final 6-0 score.
GAME NOTES- Senior Robbie Bennett and redshirt junior Gavin Linsell produced two shots each, accounting for all but three Gannon shots.
- Gannon was out-shot 15-7.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE- Gannon was shut out in a season opener for the first time since a 2-0 defeat at Houghton during the 2008 lidlifter.
- The Golden Knights are in the midst of a season-opening four-match road swing. The program hasn't opened a campaign with four straight road affairs since 1989. However, three of those four contests were on neutral fields.
