Gannon Baseball Team Battles Mansfield in Weekend Non-Conference Series; Travels to NCAA Division I Canisius Sunday

The Gannon baseball team is scheduled to play five non-conference games in the next three days, including an appearance at NCAA Division I Canisius.
ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon baseball team will take a break from Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action this weekend with five non-conference games on the schedule. The weekend represents the last non-PSAC Western Division weekend of the season.

Gannon begins the busy three days Friday, April 12 against Mansfield at Gannon University Field. The two teams travel to Mansfield Saturday, April 13 for the series' final twinbill. The Golden Knights then get a shot at an NCAA Division I program on Sunday, April 14 when they travel to Canisius. It will be the program's first contest against an NCAA Division I program since at least the 1999 season. Archives are unable to confirm all opponents prior to that season. First pitch all three days is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Gannon-Mansfield/Canisius History: Gannon and Mansfield will be seeing each other for the first time since the Mountaineers posted a 12-6 victory March 3, 2005 in Fort Myers, Florida. Mansfield also had a 15-2 win against Gannon on March 6, 2004 in Fort Myers. Canisius is 3-1 all-time against Gannon.
