ERIE, Pa. – Gannon ranks 24th out of 300-plus NCAA Division II schools in the Final Fall Division II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings released Wednesday morning.
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today to honor institutions maintaining a broad-based program, achieving success in many sports, both men's and women's. Points are awarded on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports - seven women's and seven men's. The scoring structure can be found at

Colorado School of Mines is the top-ranked program with 333.50 points after the seven fall championships. Grand Valley State (Mich.) (280.00), Tampa (Fla.) (253.00), West Texas A&M (247.00) and Shippensburg (Pa.) (237.00) completed the top five.
Gannon is tabbed 24th with 139 points. Three fall sports helped garner the points as the men's soccer, women's volleyball and women's soccer teams all played in NCAA Division II Tournaments.
The men's soccer team led the way with 64 points after advancing to the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen under head coach
Rob van Rheenen. The women's volleyball team picked up 50 points with an NCAA Tournament second-round appearance under head coach
Matt Darling. And the women's soccer program earned 25 points by securing its second-ever NCAA Division II Tournament appearance under head coach
Colin Petersen.
The first NCAA Division II winter standings will be released Thursday, March 14.
