ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon women's lacrosse team opens the home portion of its 2011 schedule Saturday, March 19 against rival Edinboro at Gannon University Field. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Gannon enters Saturday's contest with a 4-1 overall record and 1-0 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) mark. The Lady Knights are ranked eighth in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) national rankings. The squad opened conference play Tuesday night with a 13-10 victory at Slippery Rock.

Mary Eshenour (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) headlines the offensive attack with 22 goals, two assists and 24 points. The senior ranks No. 1 among active NCAA Division II players in career scoring.

Jess Fugate (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) and Sarah Grzybinski (New Market, Md./Linganore) have also reached double digits in scoring. Fugate owns 14 goals, five assists and 19 points. Grzybinski has scored 12 times.

Margaret Maslyn (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan Academy) has played every minute in goal, producing a 9.60 goals against average and .489 save percentage.

Edinboro brings a 2-1 overall record and 0-1 PSAC mark into Saturday's contest. The Fighting Scots opened the season with victories against Lake Erie (16-11) and Lenoir-Rhyne (17-8), before tasting defeat (11-7) for the first time Tuesday in their PSAC opener at Mercyhurst.

Freshman Victoria Smith leads the Edinboro scoring unit with 14 goals, three assists and 17 points. Sophomores Shelby Will and Kaitlin Magee have added six goals each. Freshman Michelle Zei has started every match in goal, resulting in an 11.20 goals against average and .462 save percentage.
