Gannon Men's Basketball Team Takes Five-Game Win Streak to Cheyney and Shippensburg This Weekend

The Gannon men's basketball team will try to captured its first road victory of the season this weekend in PSAC crossover action.
The Gannon men's basketball team will take its season-high five-game win streak on the road this weekend when it travels to Cheyney and Shippensburg for a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover games. Both games are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

Gannon improved to 7-2 with back-to-back home victories against Millersville (74-52) and West Chester (96-86) January 3-4. In the process, the Golden Knights moved to a perfect 7-0 at home this season and have won nine consecutive home games dating back to last season. On the other hand, the squad is 0-2 on the road this season with losses at Urbana (79-70) and Central State (78-74).

Cheyney (8-2) is coming off back-to-back road victories at Lock Haven (88-68) and Edinboro (78-70). The Wolves are 3-0 at home this season with victories against the University of Sciences (73-57), Washington Adventist (74-66) and the District of Columbia (63-61). They rank second among PSAC teams in scoring defense (64.6) and third in three-point field goals per game (7.4).

Shippensburg (4-6) snapped a four-game losing streak Tuesday night with a 72-47 rout at Lock Haven. The Red Raiders have picked up three of their four victories at home. The PSAC Eastern Division club leads the conference in three-pointers per game (7.8) and ranks second in three-point field goal percentage defense (29.2).

Gannon will be making its first-ever trip to both venues. The Golden Knights have won eight consecutive games against Cheyney and lead the all-time series 14-10. Head coach John T. Reilly's squad is 4-0 all-time against Shippensburg. However, every game against both clubs have been played at the Hammermill Center.
