PRINCETON, N.J.- The ninth-ranked Gannon women's water polo team lost 21-5 at Princeton Friday night. The match was part of the three-day Princeton Invitational.
The Tigers jumped out to a 7-3 lead after one quarter and kept the pressure up with four more second period goals. Princeton shut out GU in the second half, adding 10 scores of its own to create the final margin.
Annie Greenhill (Brea, Calif./Brea Olinda) led the Lady Knights' attack with four goals.
Kendra Plackemeier (Bonsall, Calif./Fallbrook) contributed a goal as well.
Janelle Bartman (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Stevenson) made five saves in net, while
Libbie Guina (Houston, Texas/Clear Brook) added two saves in the fourth quarter.
Gannon continues action at the Princeton Invitational Saturday, February 20. The Knights face Wagner College at 12:30 p.m. and then play Brown at 4:10 p.m. Saturday.
