Gannon Men's Basketball Team Concludes Ohio Road Swing Tuesday Night at Central State

The Gannon men's basketball team hopes to get back on the winning track Tuesday night at Central State with its final road game of 2009.
The Gannon men's basketball team concludes a brief Ohio road swing Tuesday, December 7 when it plays at 2010 NCAA Division II Tournament participant Central State. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Gannon suffered its first loss of the season last Saturday with a 79-70 loss at NCAA Division II Independent Urbana. The Golden Knights rallied from a 17-point halftime deficit to tie the game with 6:28 left in regulation, before dropping their sixth consecutive road game dating back to last season.

Central State returns seven letterwinners and three starters from last year's 22-6 team that fell to Bellarmine (Ky.) in the first round of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional last season.

The Gannon-Central State series was a highly-contest one until it ended in the late 1980s. Tuesday's meeting will be the first between the two clubs since the 1988-89 campaign. Central State leads the all-time series 6-5 and is a perfect 4-0 against the Golden Knights at home. The 1987-88 Gannon team that advanced to the NCAA Division II national quarterfinals dropped a 102-88 overtime decision at Central State in the last game played between the two teams in Wilberforce, Ohio.

Tuesday's Gannon-Central State game can be heard live on Jet Radio 1400 and via the Internet at http://www.wergfm.com. No live gameday statistics or video broadcast will be available.
