DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.-The Gannon baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader with East Stroudsburg Thursday. The Warriors won 13-2 and 8-1 to get the sweep.
In the opening game, ESU scored four runs in the first inning on their way to an easy win. The Golden Knights didn't score until the bottom of the seventh, when
Frank Jagoda (Fredonia, N.Y./Dunkirk Senior) had an RBI single to drive in
Eric Harpster (Erie, Pa./McDowell).
Brian Gunnell (Falconer, N.Y./Falconer) drove in
Greg Radwan (Farnham, N.Y./St. Francis) with a groundout for Gannon's second run.
Kolten Hoffman (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) continued his hot hitting with two singles in the loss.
The Warriors got out to an early lead in the second game as well, scoring three in the first frame. They added two runs each in the third and fourth innings to extend the lead. GU again scored in the seventh, as Gunnell's RBI single scored
Tim Lipp (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) for the Knights' lone run. Hoffman added another base hit in the contest.
Gannon and Lock Haven will match up Friday, March 6. The game is scheduled for a 2:30 start.
