Freshman setter Bengisu Arslan had 118 assists in three Gannon volleyball victories as she averaged almost 12 assists per set.

She opened the week with 44 assists in a non-conference 3-1 road win over a tough Daemen team on Tuesday. Arslan dished out 29 assists in a sweep over rival Mercyhurst on Friday. Her setting helped Gannon log 37 kills and hitting percentage of .280. She had possibly her best performance of the season when she recorded 45 assists in Gannon’s sweep over Edinboro on Saturday. Her setting led to 51 Gannon kills in three sets and a .396 hitting percentage, GU’s second-highest total of the season. Arslan also served up three aces in both PSAC West matches, and she made 13 digs in those two matches. The freshman has started every match for Gannon and ranks third in the PSAC with 789 assists.
