Beining was named Most Valuable Player of the 2018 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Softball Tournament last weekend, leading Gannon to its first PSAC championship in program history. The sophomore pitcher went 3-0 with a 0.98 earned run average in four appearances at the tournament. She threw 21 1/3 innings, completing two of her three starts. Beining surrendered only three earned runs while striking out 10. The right-hander began the tournament with a complete-game 4-3 victory against Bloomsburg, allowing zero earned runs and striking out four. After tossing 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief during a 6-2 win against West Chester, Beining earned the victory during a 7-3 decision against Lock Haven in the winners' bracket finals. She ended the week with a complete-game 5-3 victory against West Chester in the conference title game, giving up zero earned runs. Beining enters the NCAA Tournament with a 14-5 record and 2.08 ERA.
