McGuire helped the Gannon wrestling team post a 20-15 victory at rival Mercyhurst last Wednesday during the final regular-season dual meet. The redshirt junior knocked off Logan Grass at 149 pounds to give the Golden Knights a 9-3 lead at the time. At the time of the bout, Grass was ranked second in NCAA Division II Super Region One and 12th nationally. McGuire improved to 19-4 overall and 8-1 in dual matches this season. Ranked third in NCAA Division II Super Region One, he has four pins and two major decisions. He ranks second among all NCAA Division II wrestlers in technical falls with eight.
