Freeman led the Gannon women's basketball team to a perfect 2-0 record at the Lady Lion Classic hosted by Concord University in their last action. The Lady Knights picked up a pair of regional victories against Concord (83-69) and WVIAC favorite Fairmont State (71-65). Freeman scored a team-high 20 points during a season-opening victory at Concord, including 17 in the first half. She went on an 11-0 run midway through the first half to single-handedly open a 12-point Gannon lead. Freeman averaged 13.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and one assist in two games.
