Gannon women's lacrosse head coach
Kiana Francis has announced the addition of
Nicolette Spotlow as an assistant coach to the Golden Knights' staff.
Spotlow joins Gannon after completing a collegiate playing career that included experience at both the Division I and Division II levels.
She began her collegiate career at Iona University in 2019-20 before continuing at High Point University from 2021-23. She concluded her playing career at Southern Connecticut State University, where she competed from 2023-26.
"I am very excited to have Nicolette joining me here at Gannon," Francis said. "She brings multiple levels of collegiate experience from both Division I and Division II, and she has an excellent understanding and immense knowledge of the game. She will help build our offense with her strong work ethic and her passion for developing our student-athletes. I am excited to be working alongside her as we build a strong program, and I know that our team will thrive with her on our staff."
Spotlow also brings experience in coaching and player development. She previously provided private coaching through Guilford Lacrosse, designing training sessions focused on improving all aspects of the game while tailoring agility and footwork training to individual athletes.
Her lacrosse background also includes seven years with Nor'Easter Lacrosse. During her time with the club, Spotlow competed on its advanced teams before gaining coaching experience by assisting with younger players and practices.
Spotlow served as a USA Lacrosse official from 2019-26, officiating youth through high school contests while also working high school tournaments and championship games.
A decorated player throughout her career, Spotlow was a four-year varsity starter prior to entering the collegiate ranks and earned multiple all-state, all-conference and all-area honors. Her résumé also includes Under Armour All-American First Team honors in 2018 and Player of the Year recognition in 2019-20.
Spotlow earned her Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a minor in Business Administration from Southern Connecticut State University.
