Biography

Monin will be one of the favorites to start at 157 ... began his career at 141, but made a smooth transition to 157 as a sophomore … is a two-time national qualifier.

2007-08: Was Gannon’s top wrestler at 157, starting every dual match … named to the Academic All-America second team … was one of seven Golden Knights to reach the 20-win plateau … opened the season with a third-place finish at the National Catholic Invitational, winning five of six matches … finished third at the Ashland Invitational (3-3) and seventh at the Midwest Classic (4-2) … began the dual season with four consecutive victories against Mercyhurst North East, rival Mercyhurst, NCAA Division I Wagner, and Brockport … added dual victories against West Liberty State, Limestone (S.C.), and Seton Hill … won two of four matches at the NCAA Division II East Regional.

2006-07: Redshirted ... posted a 7-3 record while wrestling unattached at invitationals and opens.

2005-06: Qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships for the second consecutive season, going 1-2 at 157 ... placed third at the East Regionals with a 3-1 mark ... was third on the team in victories (16).

2004-05: Was one of four Gannon wrestlers to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships ... placed fourth at the East Regionals with a 2-2 record at 141 ... led team in wins, finishing 24-16 overall ... finished second in pins (6) ... won first five dual matches of his collegiate career, including his first against West Liberty State ... finished third at the Ohio Northern Invitational with a 5-1 record.

High School: Wrestled for head coach Dennis Beck at Lancaster (N.Y.) High School ... was a two-time Section 6 champion ... placed sixth at the state championships as a senior.
