Biography

Lipp is expected to be Gannon’s starting shortstop for the fourth consecutive season … enters the season 11th all-time at Gannon with 56 career walks.

2011: Was one of four players to start every game, starting every game at shortstop for the third consecutive season … was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … received the Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award … led Gannon in hits (39) and doubles (9) … finished second on the team in runs (24), second in total bases (48), second in stolen bases (9), third in batting average (.295), third in RBIs (15), fifth in slugging percentage (.364) and fifth in walks (10) … hit .300 (12-40) against left-handers, .318 (21-66) with the bases empty and .310 (9-29) with two outs … reached base 34.6 percent (9-26) of the time when leading off an inning … drove home a run 50 percent (5-10) of the time with a runner on third base and less than two outs … recorded a team-high 12 multiple-hit games and three multiple-RBI games … had 109 assists, the ninth-highest single-season total in school history … produced a season-high nine-game hitting streak March 19-April 2 … hit .455 (15-33) with 10 runs and seven RBIs during the streak … recorded three hits in a game twice during the hit streak, going 3-for-4 at both Indiana (Pa.) and Alderson-Broaddus … added two runs and one RBI during the Alderson-Broaddus game, helping Gannon post a 9-2 victory … ended the season with a five-game hitting streak … hit .412 (7-17) during the season-ending hit streak … had a 3-for-4 performance with one run and two RBIs against Grand Valley State at the Russ-Matt Invitational … was successful in his last eight stolen base attempts of the season.

2010: Was one of three Golden Knights to start every game … led Gannon in at-bats (132), walks (26) and on-base percentage (.457) … produced the second-highest single-season on-base percentage in school history … recorded single-season marks that were among the school’s all-time top 10 in assists (120, 5th), sacrifice hits (5, 8th) and walks (26, 10th) … was second on the team in average (.326), runs (28), hits (43) and stolen bases (14) … hit .389 (14-36) against left-handers, .302 (29-96) against right-handers, .407 (24-59) with runners on base, .400 (2-5) with the bases loaded, .439 (18-41) with runners in scoring position and .387 (12-31) with two outs … reached base 44 percent (22-50) of the time when leading off an inning … drove in a run 55.6 percent (5-9) of the time when hitting with a runner on third base and less than two outs … led Gannon in multiple-hit games (14) … had four multiple-RBI games … opened the season by going 3-for-4 with one run and two RBIs during an 8-1 victory against Hillsdale … completed the sweep with an 8-7 win, going 1-for-3 with two runs … finished the first three games 6-for-10 with four runs, two RBIs, one double and two walks … scored a run in each of the first six games … recorded a hit in 27 of 43 games … drove in a season-high three runs during a 7-2 victory at Lake Erie … scored five runs and stole five bases during a doubleheader sweep of Penn State Beaver … was errorless during the first eight games of the season, a span of 35 fielding opportunities … added another streak of nine errorless games March 26-April 3, encompassing 34 fielding chances.
