Marchione returns as one of Gannon’s starting pitchers … transferred from Mercyhurst North East prior to the 2010-11 academic year.

2011: Made eight appearances during his first season as a Golden Knight, starting seven … logged the fourth-most innings (35.1) on the team … limited left-handers to a .265 (9-34) average … held opposing hitters to a .268 (11-41) average with two outs … earned his only victory of the season during a 5-2 win against Indiana (Pa.), allowing two runs on four hits through six innings … opened the season with five innings of work against St. Xavier (Ill.), receiving a no-decision after giving up two runs on five hits … surrendered only one run in 8 2/3 innings during a 12-inning affair against rival Mercyhurst … picked up his first career save with a scoreless inning during a 6-3 victory against Clarion.

At Mercyhurst North East: Played for head coach Dan Bertolini … named to the all-region team … broke the school record for lowest earned run average … recorded the third-highest victory total in school history.

High School: Played for head coach Dan Blewais at Br. Andre Catholic High School in Markham, Ontario … served as a team captain … named MVP at the Canadian National Baseball Championships … received the Christian Leadership award … helped Br. Andre Catholic win the North East Regional, the Ontario Games and the PBLO championships … was part of a provincial-qualifying team.

Personal: Communication Arts major … has one sister and one brother … son of Louise and Don.
