Biography

Baldelli is Gannon’s returning starter behind the plate … transferred from Mercyhurst prior to the 2012 campaign.

2012: Played in 45 games during his first season in a Golden Knight uniform, starting 43 … recorded 157 putouts, representing the 16th-highest single-season total in school history … reached base 30.6 percent (11-36) of the time when leading off an inning … hit .311 (14-45) with two outs … drove in a run 58.3 percent (7-12) of the time with a runner on third base and less than two outs … recorded 11 multiple-hit games and four multiple-RBI games … produced a season-best six-game hitting streak March 30-April 7 … began his first season at Gannon with four hits during the first three contests … went 1-for-2 with a home run during his Gannon debut, helping the Golden Knights post a 4-2 victory against the University of Mary … added a second home run during a 4-3 win against the University of Mary later in the spring trip … blasted his third round-tripper during a 6-1 victory at Indiana (Pa.) … scored a season-high three runs while going 2-for-3 during an 8-6 win against Fredonia State.

2011 (At Mercyhurst): Split time as the reserve catcher after coming back from an injury that caused him to miss most of the 2010 season … played in 14 games, starting three … hit .300, collecting six hits during 20 trips to the plate while driving in eight runs and scoring three … had arguably his best performance at the plate against the University of the Sciences when he went 2-for-3 with three RBIs … produced a two-RBI performance against both Hillsdale and Notre Dame (Ohio)… had no errors in 30 chances.

2010 (at Mercyhurst): Appeared in one game against Florida Memorial on February 21 … battled a wrist injury for the entire season.

High School: Played for head coach Dan O’Liastro at Riverside (Pa.) High School … named WPIAL Class AA Catcher of the Year … selected to the all-conference first team … named team MVP … helped Riverside win back-to-back state championships and a conference title … set a school record for home runs as a senior, leading the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Conference (WPIAL) in the process … was a three-sport athlete, lettering in football and basketball … earned all-state accolades in football as a senior.

Personal: Business major … has one sister and one brother ... his brother Bret played collegiate football at Saginaw Valley State … is the son of Lorri and Mark.
