Biography

Rectenwald is one of Gannon’s returning outfield starters in 2015, as well as an important part of the pitching rotation … enters her senior campaign 10th all-time at Gannon since 2000 in pitching starts (34), ninth in strikeouts looking (38), eighth in complete games (18), 10th in pitching appearances (46), 14th in home runs (8), sixth in doubles (32) and tied for sixth in saves (3).

2012: Saw action in 44 games as a position player, starting all 44 in the outfield … made 11 appearances in the circle, starting five … named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … finished second on the team in hits (36), second in total bases (67), third in runs (29), third in doubles (9), third in RBIs (23), fourth in home runs (4), fourth in batting average (.313) and fourth in slugging percentage (.456) … hit .333 (43-129) against right-handers, .500 (3-6) with the bases loaded and .318 (14-44) with two outs … reached base 42.6 percent (20-47) of the time when leading off an inning … drove home a run 62.5 percent (5-8) of the time with a runner on third base and less than two outs … led the team with 13 multiple-hit games … had six multiple-RBI performances … limited opposing hitters to a .224 overall batting average, a .208 (15-72) mark with runners on base and a .116 (5-43) average with two outs … recorded her first career hit during the season opener against Davenport … hit .320 during Gannon’s spring trip … went 2-for-3 with three runs against Wilmington (Del.) during her second collegiate contest … produced a season-high six-game hitting streak March 30-April 4 … hit .478 (11-23) with eight runs and three RBIs during the streak … went 4-for-6 with two runs and four RBIs during a doubleheader at Wheeling Jesuit … recorded her first career double, RBI and home run in the opener against the Cardinals … posted two hits and two RBIs during three consecutive games against Wheeling Jesuit March 13-16 … ripped a season-high three hits against Mercyhurst, scoring twice and driving in two runs … finished 2-for-4 with a season-high three RBIs at Seton Hill … hit her fourth home run of the season against Bloomsburg in the PSAC Tournament … made her collegiate pitching debut March 20 at Seton Hill, picking up her first career victory with four scoreless innings … allowed only one hit while striking out a season-high six and walking none against the Griffins … improved to 3-0 with wins against Mercyhurst and Clarion during her first two collegiate starts on the mound … didn’t allow a run during six of her first seven appearances, sporting a 0.61 ERA through her first 23 innings … earned her first career save with three scoreless innings during a 5-1 victory against Slippery Rock.
