Biography

Bartholow returns as one of Gannon’s starting pitchers … enters the season 12th all-time at Gannon in victories (22) and strikeouts (158) … ranks seventh among all Gannon players since 2000 in appearances (57), seventh in complete games (21), seventh in strikeouts looking (50) and eighth in games started (38).

2012: Made 27 appearances on the mound, starting 17 games … named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … received the Division II Athletics Directors Association (DII ADA) Academic Achievement Award … named to the Capital One Academic All-District first team … ranked third among PSAC pitchers and 54th nationally in saves (2) … posted the ninth-highest victory total (13) in the conference … named PSAC Pitcher of the Week March 6 after going 4-1 with a 1.62 ERA during Gannon’s spring trip … won her first four decisions of the season … tied for the team lead in victories, finishing 13-5 … earned her first career save with a scoreless inning of relief during a 6-3 victory at Seton Hill … added a second save with three scoreless innings during a 3-0 shutout against Clarion … didn’t allow an earned run during four of five appearances March 31-April 7, including three consecutive scoreless showings to open the streak … struck out a season-high seven hitters three times … recorded seven strikeouts during a complete-game victory against Wilmington (Del.) in Gannon’s second game of the season … added seven punch-outs during wins against Wheeling Jesuit and Edinboro … struck out at least five hitters nine times.

2011: Was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … received the Division II Athletics Directors Association (DII ADA) Academic Achievement Award … pitched in 18 games, making 15 starts … recorded six wins … struck out 56 batters in 89 1/3 innings pitched … opened the season with back-to-back wins against Saint Anselm (N.H) and Georgian Court (N.J.) … recorded a complete-game victory and a season-high eight strikeouts against Georgian Court (N.J.) … picked up a win against Point Park after allowing three runs and striking out five in six innings of work … provided three no-hit innings while striking out five in a relief appearance against Mercyhurst … limited Edinboro to four hits and one earned run in 6 2/3 innings, resulting in her fifth win … struck out at least four batters during nine different appearances … limited left-handed opponents to a .196 batting average.

2010: Was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … went 3-4 with three complete games as a true freshman … limited opposing hitters to a .282 average … held left-handed hitters to a .206 (7-34) average … made her first career start against Georgian Court (N.J.) at the Rebel Games in Orlando, Florida … earn her first career victory with one inning of work against St. Rose the next day, allowing only one unearned run during an 8-7 win … picked up victories against Wheeling Jesuit and Clarion … struck out a season-high six hitters during a complete-game victory against Wheeling Jesuit … also tossed complete games against Northwood (Mich.) and California (Pa.) … matched her season-high in strikeouts (6) in just four innings against Clarion, resulting in her third victory of the campaign … allowed one run or less during six of her last eight outings.

High School: Played for head coach Max Bukovac at Connellsville Area (Pa.) High School … was a four-year letterwinner, being named to the all-county team three times and the all-section team twice … served as a team captain during her junior and senior campaigns … received the B’nai B’rith Sports Award … led Connellsville to three consecutive postseason appearances, including a 2009 WPIAL Section 1-AAAA championship … was a two-sport athlete, lettering twice in basketball … produced a perfect 4.0 grade point average three times … was an Academic All-Star … graduated as Connellsville’s Salutatorian in a senior class of 347 students … earned high honors every year … was the President of the National Honor Society and the Girls Athletic Club … received the Academic Excellence and Presidential Academic awards … was a member of the Spanish Honor Society … served as a Senate member of the Student Council … received the Chamber of Commerce Award for perfect attendance from eight grade through 12th grade.
