Cacchione returns as a valuable arm in the Gannon bullpen.

2012: Saw action in nine games out of the bullpen as a true freshman … named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … finished third on the team in opponent batting average (.254), fourth in earned run average (3.72) and fifth in appearances (9) … limited left-handers to a .158 average (3-19) … held the opposition to a .182 average (6-33) with the bases empty and a .091 mark (2-22) with two outs … tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings during his first career appearance, helping the Golden Knights post a 5-1 victory against Bethel (Ind.) … surrendered one run or less during eight of his nine appearances … shut out the opposing team during five of those appearances … recorded season-highs in innings pitched (5 1/3) and strikeouts (4) at Shippensburg.

High School: Played for head coach Randy Durkoske at Mercyhurst Prep (Pa.) High School … named to the all-state second team as a pitcher … selected to the all-region first team as a second baseman and pitcher … served as a team captain during his senior year … named MVP of the City-County All-Star Game … selected team MVP as a senior … helped Mercyhurst Prep win back-to-back district and region championships … was part of Mercyhurst Prep teams that advanced to the state quarterfinals in 2010 and the state semifinals in 2011 … earned academic honors throughout his high school career.

Personal: Pre-Med/Biology major … has three sisters … is the son of Beth and Phil … is a member of the Gannon Honor Program.
