Sell will compete for a spot in Gannon’s starting rotation.

2011: Made five appearances, including two starting assignments … produced Gannon’s lowest earned run average (1.10) among pitchers with at least 15 innings pitched … allowed only two earned runs while limiting opponents to a .196 average in 16 1/3 innings … did not allow a hit during five match-ups against left-handers and held right-handers to a .216 (11-51) average … limited opposing hitters to a .094 (3-32) average with runners on base and .063 average (1-16) with two outs … made his first career start against Notre Dame (Ohio) at the Russ-Matt Invitational, tossing a three-hit shutout during a 2-0 victory … picked up another win during his other start of the season, pitching five scoreless innings during a 9-2 victory at Alderson-Broaddus … threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief against West Virginia Wesleyan at the Russ-Matt Invitational.

2010: Did not play … was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete.

High School: Played for head coach Jon Syznal at Hollidaysburg (Pa.) High School … was a two-year letterwinner … named to the All-Central Penn League second team as an outfielder … earned Altoona All-Blair County second-team honors as an outfielder … led Hollidaysburg to the District 6 Quad-A championship and an appearance in the state playoffs as a senior … was a three-year member of the honor roll.
