2008 Spring A Team - Val Adams
Membership in the Golden Knight’s “A” Team represents the very best in intercollegiate athletics. Thirty-four students have qualified by achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA during the most recent completed semester. Gannon’s 341 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.22 this past spring semester.
Valerie Adams, a member of both Gannon’s Swim team and Water Polo team has proven successful in the pool and in the classroom. Adams concluded her water polo career with 21 goals, 19 assists, 24 steals, and 15 earned kickouts in 2008. She ranks third all-time at Gannon in assists (74), fifth in steals (137), fifth in earned kickouts (61), and seventh in goals (84). The Erie, Pa., native participated in the 400-yard IM, 200-yard backstroke, and 800-freestyle relay during the 2007-08 swim season. Adams was also part of the relay team that holds the school record (4:06.80) in the 400-yard medley relay.
Adams graduated in spring 2008 with a degree in engineering. She is currently training for a field service position in engineering at Rockwell Automation in Cleveland, Ohio. During her time at Gannon she was involved in the Society of Women Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and was also part of the honors program.
