High School: Played for head coach Maurice Douglas at Independence (Ohio) High School … earned All-Ohio third-team accolades … named to the All-Metro honorable-mention team … selected to the all-district and all-city first teams … was a two-time defensive line MVP … recorded 68 tackles as a senior … helped Independence finish fourth in the Columbus City South Division with a 6-4 record … graduated in the top 15 percent of his senior class … named to the Super Honor Roll … was a member of the National Honor Society.
