Lock Haven, Pa. – Gannon women's soccer standout Brooklyn Respecki (McKean, Pa./General McLane) has been named the PSAC West Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week after leading the Golden Knights to a pair of conference victories last week.

Respecki becomes the first Golden Knight from the women's soccer program to earn a PSAC weekly accolade this season.

Respecki scored four goals for eight points during the two-game stretch as Gannon posted shutout victories at Edinboro and against Lock Haven.

She accounted for four of the Golden Knights' five goals during the week and recorded the game-winning goal in both contests.

Respecki opened the scoring in both matches and finished the week with 18 shots, including 10 on goal. Her performance helped Gannon improve to 4-2-1 overall and in PSAC West play following wins of 2-0 over Edinboro and 3-0 over Lock Haven.

The standout week moved Respecki into the team lead with four goals and nine points this season. She has started five matches and leads the Golden Knights with 30 shots and 16 shots on goal while also contributing an assist.

Both of her game-winning goals this season came during last week's victories.

Gannon has won three consecutive matches, all by shutout, while outscoring its opponents 8-0 during that stretch. The Golden Knights have recorded four shutouts through their first seven matches of the season.

The Golden Knights will travel to Roberts Wesleyan for their first non-conference match of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m.
