ERIE, Pa. — Gannon women's golf is right back at it on Monday, competing in the 2026 NCAA DII East Regional, held at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, OH. The Golden Knights are coming off winning their seventh straight PSAC Championship last week, defeating West Chester by eight strokes to claim the title.

Alexandria LeCureux (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) took home the individual title, while Anastasia Lopes (Noverasco di opera (MI), Italy/ISTITUTI DEAMICIS MILANO) was third and Cloe Mateo (Sabadell, Spain/Montcau la Mola) finished sixth. Every single Gannon golfer was inside the top 12 when the final hole was completed.

The Golden Knights have once again put together a strong and consistent campaign in 2025-26. With the win in conference, Gannon has now captured four team tournament titles this season and recorded 10 top-five finishes. Their ability to produce low scores across multiple events has positioned them well once again heading into the regional.

The Golden Knights have finished in the top 10 in every single tournament they have competed in this season. This includes several competitions with ranked teams, including challenging fields at the Pawley's Island Beach Bash, Vulcan Fire Classic, Findianapolis Intercollegiate, ODU NC4K, and TU-WU Spring Classic, specifically this spring.

Last year, Gannon took 13th in the regional competition. Three of this years expected starting lineup competed last year at this event, with Cloe Mateo (Sabadell, Spain/Montcau la Mola) tying for 42nd (+23) and Alexandria LeCureux (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) just missing out on the top 50 (T-52nd, +25). Emily Donahue (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) (+32) also competed at the regional a year ago.

The course is a challenging one and has played host to numerous tournaments in the past. Findlay Country Club, a par 72 that will play roughly 6,100 yards, has previously hosted the 2018 NCAA DII Men's Super Regional, 2017 NCAA DII Women's National Championship, 2015 GLIAC Women's Championship, and 2012 NCAA DII Women's Super Regional.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Alexandria LeCureux (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) — LeCureux captured the individual PSAC championship this past week after tying for third a year ago. With momentum, she now heads to the regional fresh off a final round of one-over 73 in conference. LeCureux has experience in this format form a year ago, when she tied for 52nd at 23 over par in her freshman regional campaign. In that tournament, her final round was also a 73, her lowest round of the season, and she climbed 51 spots up the leaderboard with that result.

Cloe Mateo (Sabadell, Spain/Montcau la Mola) — Mateo also has experience at the regional level. In 2025, she would end the tournament as Gannon's second highest finisher, placing T-42nd with rounds of 79, 81, and 79. She claimed sixth in the PSAC Championship meet a week ago and now has eight top ten finishes on the season.

Anastasia Lopes (Noverasco di opera (MI), Italy/ISTITUTI DEAMICIS MILANO) — The freshman was nine holes away from winning the medal in her first ever postseason competition at conference championships last week. Still, Lopes took third in the PSAC tournament and will carry the momentum into the regional on Monday. She has two top five finishes on the season, including bookending her season up until this point with finishes of second and third heading into the regional.

Emily Donahue (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) — Donahue has delivered solid performances throughout the season, including placing 11th (+30) at PSAC Championships this past week. Donahue took 76th at the regional competition last year but had a strong round of 76 to close out the tournament a year ago. If she can replicate that performance early and often in the tournament, she'll be positioned well to climb the leaderboard.

Victoria Colmenares (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/ICL Academy) — Colmenares finished 12th at PSAC Championships and will look to build off a season that has included one top five and two top 10 finishes on the year.

From Head Coach Scott Stano
"It's very excited to be heading back to Findlay Country Club again this spring.  It is one of the best courses we play all season, and when we played it in the fall,  we had a strong first 36 holes of that event. The team has been trending upwards and having strong practices the past few weeks. That practice showed with their clutch abilities the final nine holes at the PSAC Championship meet. I was proud of them for controlling their nerves and gutting out that victory last week. That positive momentum will help them this week when we head to a course we are very familiar with."
