Weekly Athletics Preview: April 20-26

The spring sports season continues to push toward postseason action, with several teams entering the final stretch of the regular season. Multiple postseason opportunities are on the horizon, highlighted this week by the start of the NCATA National Championships and the PSAC Championships for women's golf.

Baseball
Tuesday, 4/21 – vs Walsh – 3:00 pm
Friday, 4/24 – vs Seton Hill – 1/3:30 pm
Saturday, 4/25 – @ Seton Hill – 1/3:30 pm
Sunday, 4/26 – @ Seton Hill – 1/3:30 pm
The Golden Knights enter the week at 13-7 in PSAC West play, currently sitting second in the standings. Last Saturday, Gannon celebrated its 13 seniors and responded with a 3-1 series win over Pitt-Johnstown. GU will look to carry that momentum into another key conference series against Seton Hill as the postseason race continues.
Softball
Saturday, 4/25 – vs Pitt-Johnstown – 3/5 pm
Sunday, 4/26 – vs Indiana (Pa.) – 1/3 pm
Michelle Wiley's Golden Knights return home for a pair of conference doubleheaders this weekend. Gannon will honor its five seniors prior to Saturday's games against Pitt-Johnstown before hosting its annual Katie's Kids Day/Alumni doubleheader against Indiana (Pa.) on Sunday. With the regular season winding down, GU will look to build momentum heading into postseason play.
Women's Lacrosse
Wednesday, 4/22 – @ Edinboro – 4:00 pm
Saturday, 4/25 – vs Seton Hill – 11:30 am
Gannon wraps up its regular season this week with a pair of conference matchups. The Golden Knights will travel to Edinboro before returning home to face Seton Hill, closing out the regular season slate as they prepare for postseason play.
Women's Golf
Wednesday, 4/22 – Friday, 4/24 – PSAC Championships
Gannon heads into the PSAC Championships looking to capture its seventh consecutive conference title. The Golden Knights have remained one of the top teams in the region throughout the season and will aim to continue their run of success at the conference level.
Men's Golf
Monday, 4/20
Gannon competes in its final regular-season event as it prepares for postseason competition. The Golden Knights have consistently performed well this spring and will look to carry that momentum into the upcoming regional tournament.
Acrobatics & Tumbling
Thursday, 4/23 – vs No. 2 Oregon (NCATA Quarterfinals) – 4:30 pm (ET) / 1:30 pm (PT)
Friday, 4/24 – NCATA Semifinals – TBD
Saturday, 4/25 – NCATA National Championship – 8:00 pm (ET) / 5:00 pm (PT)
Sunday, 4/26 – NCATA Event Finals – 1:00 pm (ET) / 10:00 am (PT)
Gannon opens postseason competition at the NCATA National Championships in Azusa, California. The Golden Knights will face No. 2 Oregon in the quarterfinals, a rematch from earlier this season, and will look to make a strong push on the national stage.
