ERIE, PA - The Golden Knights had a Sunday full of success, taking down both Penn State Behrend and Wheaton in a Sunday doubleheader in Erie, PA. The wins improve the Golden Knights to 4-6 on the season. 

In game one, GU jumped out to a 6-1 advantage and never gave up the lead. Two players had four goals each and 11 different players found the back of the net.

The second game featured more from the Gannon offense. GU put up 22 goals for a second straight game and have now scored at least 21 goals in all four of their wins this season. GU also improved to 4-2 in Sunday games. 

THE KNIGHT CAP - GAME 1

  • Hot Start - Gannon would outscore Wheaton 6-1 in the first period. With the game tied 1-1, GU would score five goals in a span of five in a half minutes and never gave up the lead. Gannon would take a 9-3 lead at the break. 
  • Figure Four- Multiple Golden Knights found the back of the net four times in the win. Maria Martinez (Barcelona, Spain/Jesuïtes Gràcia Col·legi Kostka) scored four times and has scored four or more in all of the first three games of the weekend. Meanwhile, Carissa Jones (Allison Park, Pa./North Allegheny) also scored four times. 
  • All Tricks- Kerstyn Farley (Orlando, Fla./Lake Nona) and Delaney Chrysle (Banning, Calif./Beaumont) each tallied three goals in the victory. Molly Fehr (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria) scored twice.
  • Team Effort- In the victory, 11 different players would score at least once for Gannon. 
THE KNIGHT CAP - GAME 2
  • Pulling Away Early- GU pulled away with seven goals in the first period. After allowing the opening tally, Gannon would score five unanswered goals to take the early advantage. 
  • Talented Trio- Three Golden Knights would tally four goals in the game: Maria Martinez's (Barcelona, Spain/Jesuïtes Gràcia Col·legi Kostka), Emma O'Gorman (Johannesburg, South Africa/St Stithians College), and Phoebe Puacz. 
  • Diversifying Goals - Like game one, the Golden Knights would see a multitude of scorers find the net. Nine different players tallied at least one goal, and seven of those scorers found the back of the cage multiple times.
  • Twice is Nice- Gannon took down Penn State Behrend for the second time in the last two weeks and outscored the Lions 43-22 in those two games.
