In the season opener for both teams, the No. 9 Gannon Acrobatics & Tumbling team battled but fell to No. 3 Quinnipiac, 266.710–247.995, Monday evening inside M&T Bank Arena.
Quinnipiac entered the meet as the defending NCATA national champion in the Acro 6-Element heat and the Tumbling Trio pass, giving the Golden Knights an early-season test in those events.

Peyton Oliver (Vallejo, Calif./Jesse M. Bethel) posted a 9.200, pacing the Golden Knights.
