No. 6 Men’s Basketball Erupts for 115 in Statement Win Over California (Pa.)

In a battle between the top teams in the PSAC West, No. 6 Men's Basketball delivered its most explosive offensive performance of the season Saturday afternoon, racing past California (Pa.) 115-87 inside the Highmark Events Center.

The 115 points marked Gannon's highest scoring output of the season and the eighth time the Golden Knights have eclipsed the 100-point mark while avenging their only loss of the year, a 99-88 setback to the Vulcans back on January 10. The win extended the Golden Knights' win streak to seven games while improving to a perfect 11-0 at home this season.

Gannon seized control early, building a 56-33 halftime lead behind defensive pressure and transition scoring, then continued to pour it on in the second half to secure the statement divisional win.

California (Pa.) entered having won the last two meetings with the Golden Knights, claiming a 106-84 win in last year's second meeting and a 99-88 win earlier this season on January 10,  both played at Cal. With Saturday's result, Gannon has now won the last three meetings against the Vulcans at the Highmark Events Center.
