Gannon sophomore guard Lucas Sekasi (Washington, DC/Jackson-Reed) has been named the PSAC West Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week after a disruptive two-game stretch that helped fuel a pair of statement wins for the No. 10 Golden Knights, including a performance that helped snap No. 2 Daemen's 51-game regular-season winning streak and helped the Golden Knights earn their 10th PSAC win of the season.

Sekasi played a pivotal role in Gannon's 2–0 week, which included a 79–61 upset of No. 2 Daemen and a 112–86 PSAC road victory at Pitt-Johnstown.

Across the two contests, Sekasi totaled seven steals, averaging 3.5 steals per game, while also contributing six rebounds and 10 assists with just one turnover.

In the win over No. 2 Daemen, Sekasi recorded three steals, three rebounds, and three assists while helping limit one of the nation's top teams to 61 points. He followed that with four steals and seven assists at Pitt-Johnstown, controlling the tempo of the game on both ends of the floor.

Sekasi currently leads the Golden Knights with 103 rebounds, averaging 5.4 per game, ranks second on the team with eight blocks, and is also second in steals with 37 on the season.

This marks the fourth weekly accolade of the season for Gannon men's basketball and the first PSAC honor of Sekasi's career.
