LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced Monday that senior goalkeeper Samuel Alarcon (Madrid, Spain/Colegio el Valle II) has been named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week. The recognition marks the first PSAC weekly honor of the 2025 season for the Golden Knights men's soccer program and the fourth weekly accolade of Alarcon's career.

Alarcon made his first start of the 2025 season and delivered a clean sheet in Gannon's 1–0 upset of No. 25 Ashland. Returning to the starting role after missing last season due to injury, the senior was steady throughout the night, playing the full 90 minutes in between the pipes while making three saves against eight total shots.
