Costa Named to D2Football.com Elite 100 Watch List

ERIE, Pa. – Gannon's Bryson Costa (Windber, Pa./Windber Area) has been named to the D2Football.com Elite 100 Watch List. The D2Football.com Elite 100 Watch List was selected by the staff of D2Football.com with the input of numerous sitting head coaches as well as professional football scouting veteran Josh Buchanan.

The players chosen by D2Football.com represent the official watch list for the D2Football.com 2025 Elite 100 Team, which will be announced at the conclusion of the season.

Costa stepped in a year ago as a true freshman to replace All-American Eric Scarpino as Gannon's punter and placekicker.  He excelled as Gannon's punter, leading the PSAC and ranking 11th in Division II with an average of 43.6 yards on 39 punts. He had 13 punts of 50-or-more yards and dropped eight punts inside the 20. The 43.6 yard average was a new school record.

He averaged 40.0 yards-or-more in a game in seven games. That included two games with an average of over 50 yards. He averaged 50.3 yards on seven punts in his first game as a collegian vs. Northwood. Later in the year he had a season-high 53.3 yard average at Edinboro while punting four times.

Costa earned first team D2CCA All-Super Region 1 honors along with being named to the All-PSAC West team at punter.
