ERIE, PA – Director of Athletics Meghan Morphy today announced the addition of Matthew Snyder as the next Director of Athletic Events, Facilities, and Equipment with Gannon Athletics. Snyder brings a wealth of experience in sports management, operations, and athlete development to the organization.
"Matt has strong experience in campus event management through his graduate assistantship that will support his work in this new role," said Meghan Morphy, Director of Athletics. "That experience, combined with his passion for college athletics and enhancing the student-athlete experience, makes him an excellent addition to our team! Snyder arrives in Erie after spending the last year at the University of South Carolina, earning a Master's Degree in Sport and Entertainment Management. During his time in graduate school, he served as a Sport Administration Intern at Newberry College, where he worked across multiple facets of the athletic department. This included coordinating game-day promotions to managing compliance operations and supporting player success initiatives. His comprehensive role also included assisting with football recruiting.

His earlier career also includes leadership roles in Quality Assurance at East Penn Manufacturing, where he advanced from machine operator to quality leader, overseeing production teams and ensuring operational excellence.
"I'm truly honored and excited to join Gannon University alongside so many outstanding individuals who continue to uphold a tradition of building excellence within the athletic community," said Snyder. "I look forward to serving our student-athletes, the student body, and the community of Erie during every athletic event. I am excited to collaborate with the Gannon Family as we work together to build something impactful and lasting for everyone."
