Experienced Men's Golf Team to Face Challenging Fall Schedule

ERIE, Pa. – Gannon University Director of Men's Golf Scott Stano has announced the fall portion of his 2025-26 schedule. The Golden Knights will play in six tournaments including the PSAC Tournament to end the fall campaign.

While serving as the longtime women's golf coach Stano is in his second season overseeing the men's program. The Golden Knights enjoyed great success in his initial season, winning a first-ever PSAC Championship along with tying for the NCAA Div. II Atlantic/East Regional crown and earning a berth in the NCAA Div. II National Championships. All told Gannon either won or tied for first in seven tournaments.

The 2025 fall schedule features five tournaments from last fall and promises to challenge the Golden Knights.  "We're very excited to continue playing a difficult and demanding schedule," Stano pointed out. "We are fortunate enough to be playing at two NCAA regional golf courses this fall. Ferris State will be hosting the Midwest/Central Regional at Katke Golf Club as well as UPJ hosting the Atlantic/East Regional at Sunnehanna Country Club.

"Anytime you can play against strong fields at fantastic golf courses, it will only help us get prepared for PSAC's in the fall as well as help us in the springtime come NCAA time," he continued. "A lot of quality fields and great courses, which will help us tremendously this fall season and put us into great position heading towards for the spring season."

A veteran Golden Knight squad debuts in the UC Invitational hosted by Charleston (WV) on Monday, September 8 and Tuesday, September 9. Gannon came in third out of 17 teams in the two-day tournament a year ago.

Then they look to defend their title in the Bulldog Fall Classic hosted by Ferris State on Monday, September 15 and Tuesday, September 16. A year Gannon finished first in the 10-team field.

Gannon heads west for the second week in a row on Monday, September 22 and Tuesday, September 23 teeing it up in the UIndy Fall Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind.

The next two tournaments are familiar from 2024-25, playing in the Sunnehanna Collegiate hosted by Pitt-Johnstown on Monday, September 29 and Tuesday, September 30, followed by hosting the annual Howard "Bud" Elwell Invitational two weeks later on Sunday, October 12 and Monday, October 13. They are the defending champions in both tournaments.

The fall season concludes with the Golden Knights looking to defend yet another title, this one the PSAC championship. Gannon won for the first time a year ago, winning by 40 strokes over runner-up Pitt-Johnstown. Mattia Parrin was the medalist at 8-under 208 over the 54-hole event and Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) was second at 3-under 213. Both return this season.

The men's golf spring schedule will released at a later date.
