Three Golden Knights Earn All-PSAC West Honors

Goodrick, Shelton named to first team, Prosser on second team

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference today announced the 2025 PSAC Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams. Three members of the Gannon men's basketball team were recognized, with Tasman Goodrick (Sydney, Australia/St. Joseph's College) and Ernest Shelton (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) both earning first team All-PSAC West honors and Pace Prosser (Berlin, Pa./Berlin Brothersvalley) landing a spot on the second team.

The PSAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Year was awarded to Donald Whitehead Jr. of California (Pa.) while Edinboro's Cenker Evran (Adana, Turkey/Turk Telekom) was voted the Defensive Athlete of the Year. In a year with a number of outstanding freshmen Indiana (Pa.)'s Kymani Merraro was selected the PSAC West Freshman of the Year. Finally, Justin Jennings of Edinboro was named the PSAC West Coach of the Year.

With Goodrick, Shelton and Prosser leading the way Gannon ran away with the Western Division regular season championship for the second straight year. The Golden Knights finished at 17-3 winning the division by five games. Gannon moved into the PSAC Semifinals last night thanks to an 88-58 win over Indiana (Pa.) and currently has a 23-6 record under first-year head coach Easton Bazzoli.

After serving as a key reserve on last year's team that won the PSAC championship, the Atlantic Regional and advanced to the Elite Eight while finishing at 32-3, Shelton stepped into the starting lineup this year and emerged as the team's leading scorer.

A 6-foot-5 sophomore guard, Shelton is averaging a team-high 17.4 ppg. and is tied with Goodrick for the team lead in blocked shots with 26. He is tied for seventh in the PSAC in scoring and also pulls down 4.1 rpg.

Shelton is one of the top 3-point threats in the PSAC. He has made 83-of-230 3-pointers, ranking eighth in a season at Gannon in 3-pointers made and fifth in 3-pointers attempted. He is tied for third in the PSAC in 3-pointers made per game (2.9). He has scored in double figures in 26 games while leading the Golden Knights in scoring in 12 games.

While Shelton has been a top deep threat for the Golden Knights Goodrick has provided a dominant force in the paint. In his first season at Gannon after transferring from Division I Cal Baptist, the 6-foot-9 sophomore is averaging a double-double at 15.4 ppg. and 10.6 rpg. He is also shooting 55.9 percent from the floor and is tied with Shelton in blocked shots with 26.

A native of Sydney, Australia, Goodrick is second in the PSAC and 13th in Division II in rebounds per game and is eighth in field goal percentage. He is seventh nationally with 16 double-doubles while scoring in double figures 26 times in 28 games. He has led the Golden Knights in scoring eight times, including a 19-point, 12-rebound effort on Wednesday vs. IUP.

Prosser has been a revelation as a freshman. A 6-foot-2 guard, he regularly stuffs the stat sheet. Prosser ranks third on the team in scoring at 13.6 ppg., but has also battled inside for 5.6 rpg., second on the team. He leads the Golden Knights in assists (129) and steals (56) and is second on the team in 3-pointers made (62) and attempted (148). Prosser ranks fifth in the PSAC in assists per game (4.4) and assist/turnover ratio (2.0), along with third in steals per game (1.9). He is shooting 41.9 percent on 3-pointers, ranking fifth in the conference.

Prosser has scored in double figures in 22 games and has been the leading scorer five times.
Gannon returns to action on Saturday playing Millersville in the PSAC Semifinals. Shepherd is hosting the Final Four, with the Gannon-Millersville semifinal set for a 1:00 p.m. tipoff.
