Shelton, Goodrick Named to NABC All-Atlantic District Team

Shelton earns spot on first team, Goodrick on second

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today released its 2024-25 NABC Division II All-District Teams and District Coaches of the Year. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division II.

Gannon just recently completed a highly-successful season under first-year head coach Easton Bazzoli. The Golden Knights finished the year with a 27-7 record, winning their second straight PSAC championship and reaching the championship game of the Atlantic Regional.

Two Golden Knights were rewarded for their contributions this year, with Ernest Shelton (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) earning a spot on the NABC All-Atlantic District first team and Tasman Goodrick (Sydney, Australia/St. Joseph's College) landing a spot on the second team.

Shelton led Gannon in scoring at 17.4 ppg., good for eighth in the PSAC. A 6-foot-5 guard, he was third on the team in rebounding at 4.5 rpg. and was second in blocked shots (31). The sophomore emerged as one of the top 3-point threats in the PSAC, making 92-of-263. In addition, he was a frequent visitor to the free throw line, making 131-of-152 (86.2 pct.).

Shelton ranked fourth in the PSAC in free throw percentage along with fifth in 3-pointers made per game (2.7). The 92 3-pointers are tied for sixth in a season at Gannon while the 263 attempts are fifth. Shelton finished the season with 591 points. That figure ranks ninth all-time.

Goodrick was in his first season with the Golden Knights after transferring from Division I Cal Baptist. The 6-foot-9 sophomore emerged as one of the top players in many years at Gannon. He averaged 15.6 ppg. while leading the team in rebounding with 10.7 rpg. That figure not only ranked second in the PSAC but is xx in Division II. He pulled down 354 rebounds, the fourth-highest total ever at Gannon.

Goodrick also ranked among the PSAC leaders in field goal percentage at 55.5 percent (203-of-366), good for sixth in the conference. Like Shelton, the native of Australia made plenty of trips to the free throw line, going 108-of-173 (62.4 pct.). He also led Gannon in blocked shots with 32 and was second on the team with 50 steals.
