The Gannon University Competitive Cheer and Dance teams are back in action this weekend, competing on Saturday, March 22, at the Mid-Atlantic College Nationals in Philadelphia, followed by the Upstate Collegiate Championship in Elmira on Sunday, March 23.
The Golden Knights last took the mat on February 22 at the NECA Collegiate Championship in East Haven, CT, where they swept all three categories they competed in—Game Day Cheer (85.45/100), Team Performance (74/80), and Hip Hop (63.5/70)—earning top honors at the New England Open.
"CCD is extremely excited to get back on the road and compete again this weekend! Back-to-back competitions are the ultimate test of resilience, teamwork, and passion, and I am excited to see how the teams have grown since our last event," said head coach Kelli Makowski.
These competitions mark the Golden Knights' final road performances before they return home to host the Road to Daytona Showcase on Saturday, March 29,  inside the Highmark Events Center.Â
The event will also serve as Senior Day, celebrating the contributions of the team's graduating student-athletes as they make their final preparations for the NCA & NDA Collegiate Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida.
