Lucas Morgan Named PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Gannon's Lucas Morgan (Sydney, Australia/Marist Catholic College North Shore) has been named the PSAC Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week for his play in Saturday's 95-67 win over Saginaw Valley State. The conference announced its weekly award winners this afternoon.

Earlier in the year twin brother Mackenzie was selected the PSAC West Athlete of the Week. With a limited number of games last week the league combined the Eastern and Western Divisions for this week's honors.

Lucas Morgan (Sydney, Australia/Marist Catholic College North Shore) could have been one of several Golden Knights to receive Defensive Athlete of the Week accolades after the team put on a suffocating effort against a Saginaw Valley State team that came in with a 6-1 record. Gannon forced an incredible 38 turnovers while holding a 45-9 advantage in points off turnovers.

A 6-foot-4 swingman, the junior from Sydney, Australia recorded seven of the team's 20 steals. He added a team-high seven rebounds while finishing with 14 points on the offensive end. He was one of four Golden Knights in double figures. All in 21 minutes of action.

Morgan is in his first season at Gannon after transferring from St. Cloud State. He returns to the court on Tuesday when Gannon hosts Kutztown.
