THE KNIGHT CAP

• Leyna's Big Day - Jaylene Martinez (Whittier, Cal./Whittier) had the strongest showing in the Golden Knights lineup on Sunday, claiming second at 131 pounds. After wins by a combined score of 32-2 in the first three rounds, she would fall in the championship bout but remain on the podium. 
• Battling Back: Kamila Castro (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridhewood) bounced back in a big way following a round one loss. Castro would win by fall in her ensuing match to set up a chance for third, which she converted with a tech fall. 
• Other Podium Placements: Multiple other Golden Knights earned points for the team in Sunday's meet. Leyna Rumpler (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) won three matches in a row following a first round defeat, and earned a fourth place finish on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, Kennedy Perez (Parkland, Fla./Benjamin Franklin (Mich.)) won her final match of the afternoon, 5-0, to secure fifth place at 117 pounds.
